Meet Valerie Hunt, 7th & 8th grade teacher at Bowman Hills School.
Armed with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, she laid the foundation for her extensive career in teaching. She further enhanced her expertise with a Master’s degree in Outdoor Education, demonstrating her commitment to holistic and experiential learning.

Guided by the belief that inner strength can conquer any obstacle, she draws inspiration from the empowering quote: “The task ahead of you is never as great as the power behind you.” This maxim reflects her unyielding determination and encouragement to her students.

Her palate is as diverse as their educational background, with a love for a variety of foods. She enjoys everything from the comforting simplicity of haystacks to the natural sweetness of cherries, and a wide range of fruits and vegetables. Her culinary preferences are a testament to her appreciation for the simple joys of life.

When it comes to favorite Bible characters, she doesn’t have a single favorite, demonstrating her open-minded and all-encompassing approach to faith and spirituality.

Her guiding scripture is from Proverbs 3:5: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” This verse reflects her deep faith and her commitment to trusting in a higher power.

Blue, aqua, and turquoise are her preferred colors, reflecting a love for the calming and serene shades of the sea. These colors mirror her approach to life and education, which is grounded in tranquility and balance.

Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Hunt leads an active and creative life. Hiking and biking connects her with the great outdoors, while playing games and engaging in creative activities allows her to inspire her students with a sense of fun and wonder.

With 32 years of dedication at Bowman Hills School, Mrs. Hunt has left an indelible mark on our institution. Her passion for teaching, unwavering faith, and diverse interests make her a cherished and invaluable part of our school community.
